I’ve been thinking about how long it takes to even notice you’ve absorbed someone else’s definition of you. By the time I caught it, I’d been living inside it for years. The unlearning takes so much longer than the absorbing ever did which feels a bit unfair, honestly.

The beauty of your life does not lie in how well you can bend to meet everyone’s expectations.

It lies in embracing who you are, in loving yourself from deep within, in refusing to carry the burden of apologising for your own existence.

It means you stop cutting off pieces of yourself just because someone else finds them uncomfortable.

It means you stop folding yourself up just to fit into lives, rooms, or roles that were never built for your full presence.
